In the Name of God Amen the Twenty ninth day of July one thousand seven hundred and sixty six I William East Senr. of Charlotte County being of good and perfect mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God and calling to mind the mortality of my body and that all flesh must yield to Death when it shall please God to call and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last will & Testament in manner form Following that is to say principally and first of all I give and Recomme[___] my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body [I recommen___] to the Earth to be Burried [sic] in a Decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter and herein mentioned nothing Doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as Touching Such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath Pleased God to Blefs me with after my Just Debts, Funeral Expences [sic], & Legacies are paid I give Demise & Dispose the [sic] of the same in the following manner. Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Son William East all my Land whereon I now Live on the north side of John Caldwells mill Creek to him and his heirs. Imprimis I give and bequeath the remain[___] part of Land lying on the South side of John Caldwells mill Creek unto my Son Josiah East and his heirs & c. Imprimis I give and bequeath to my Son Shadrack East three hundred and ninety acres at the Lower end of my La[___] in Hallifax [sic] County to him and his heirs. Imprimis I give and Bequea[___] Remaining part of my Land in Halifax County unto my Son William & his heirs. Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Daugter [sic] Mary Dickerson one Cow and Calf her choice of all my Cattle. Imprimis I give my Negro boy Charles with all the rest of my Cattle Horses & hogs and all my houshold [sic] furtur[___] [sic] with all the rest of my Estate to be Equally Divided among my Six child. herein and hereafter Named, Kiziah East, Sarah East, Josiah East, Ric East, Shadrack East and Obedience East to be paid to them by my Executors Required as soon as they come to years of Miturity [sic]; Imprimis It is my [_____] and Desire that my Estate may not be appraised; Imprimis I [_____] that [_____] Estate may be Equally Divided by my Executors; Imprimi[_]

At a Court held for Charlotte County the fifth day of January 17 [_____]. The within written Last will and Testament of William East decd [_____] in Court by David George and William East two of the Executors there[___] named, and the same was proved by the oath of two of the Witnefses there[_____] Subscribed and ordered to be Recorded, and on the motion of the said Execu[_____] made oath according to Law Certificate is Granted them for obtaining [_____] of the said Will in due form they giving Security whereupon they [_____] with Robert Caldwell & William Sublett their Security's entered into [_____] Acknowledged their bond for that Purpose. Reserving Liberty to [_____] Simms and William Sims the other two Executors therein Named t[__________] Execution thereof when they shall think fit.

Three feather beds and furniture one ditto and one bed stead 9 head of Cattle one black Horse four pewter Dishes nineteen Shoats. 15 pewter plates 8 pewter basons [sic] 1 Sorrel mare 11 head of Sheep four Sows and Twelve pigs 3 Iron pots 1 frying pan. 2 pair of pot hooks, one Iron Ladle, "--"--"--"--"--, one Iron Pot rack one pair of fire Tongs, one old Sa[fe], one old Chest. One old Table, one small Trunk, one box Iron [__________] 3 pole axes 1 old Broad

Allens Alarm, The Reverend Mr George Whitefields Eight S[__________], one of the Pilgrims Progrefs, Eleven old Chairs, two water pails two washing Tubs Two [piggins] one powdering Tub one butter pot one Churne [sic], fifteen Geese one hone and shofs [sic] four knives and seven forks fourteen Spoons two flax brakes of Grindstone a passel of old pewter one pot rack taken away William Black as a Legacy left his wife pr Mr. John Longdons Will.
At a Court held for Charlotte County the fourth day of September 1769. The within written Inventory of the Estate of William East Deceased was this day Returned and ordered to be Recorded
