9 Mar 1844 Deed

This indenture made and entered into on the ninth day of March, In the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred & forty four, By and between Frederick A. Brightwell of the first part and Claiborne Hill of the second part (the said Brightwell of Howard County & state of of Mifsouri and the said Hill of Saline County & state of Mifsouri) witnefseth:  That The said Frederick A. Brightwell in consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged as to him in hand paid hath this day sold and by these presents doth confirm unto the said Claiborne Hill a certain tract or parcel of land situate in Saline County and state of Mifsouri. it being the {sou}th west quarter of the {sou}th west quarter of Section twenty and Township fifty two and Range nineteen containing forty acres to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with all the appertainances {sic} there unto belonging. In witnefs whereof the sd Frederick A. Brightwell has hereunto set his hand and seal day and date above

March In the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and forty four personaly {sic} appeared before me the undersigned justice of the peace Frederick A Brightwell personaly {sic} known to me to be the person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrument of writing as having executed the same and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned.

Taken and Certified this the 9th day of March 1844
