Jordan Anderson and Margaret Easter
Marriage Bond, Mecklenburg Co., VA


Know all men by these presents that we Jordan Anderson of Prince Edward County & Lewis Roffe of Mecklenburg County are held and firmly bound unto Patrick Henry, esq. Governor or chief Magistrate of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the just and full sum of fifty pounds current money which payment well and truly to be made to the said Governor and his succefsors for the use of the Commonwealth we bind us and each of our Heirs exors and Admrs, jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 6th day of June 1785.

The condition of the above obligation is such that if there be no lawful cause to obstruct a marriage intended to be had solomized between the above bound Jordan Anderson and Margaret Easter of this County then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force.
