drive would be the best way, which would necessitate me going first to
lebanon in Wilson County and from there to Porterfield then out to the
place. Deciding from what I could gather from Mr. Northcut that a
trip would be of no real value in clearing the matter up as I had
already obtained all that could be expected to secure I decided to take
his explanation as sufficient and not go to the old farm. (I make
this explanation to show why I did not go to the grave personally).
Abner Alexander married first Dec 1, 1803 Jemima Sharp who was born May
20, 1781 and died Oct. 7, 1825. He married second probably Mary
_____ (see deeds) and his wife at the time of his death was Margaret
_____. Issue of Abner Alexander.

4. Katherine L. Married a Mr. Dickerson

6. Esther A. married Mr. Leach probably spelt {sic} Leech.

John McKnitt Alexander son of Abner and his first wife Jemima Sharp was
born in Tennessee May 5, 1805 in Wilson County, now Cannon County,
Tennessee. He married Hardenia Spencer Drennon who was born in
Wilson County, October 1, 1817 or 1819. They married August 29,
1843 in Wilson County. They removed from Cannon County Tennessee
to Texas in 1853 and settled in Bastrop County where he lived until his
death. He among his relatives {sic}. He died October 15,
1888 and she died April 2, 1902. Both died in Texas and are
buried there.
Among the issue of John McKnitt Alexander and Hardenia Spencer Drennon
his wife, a son John McKnitt Alexander born in Wilson County, Tennessee
March 14, 1853, and died Cedar Creek, Texas August 29, 1901, married
Dorcas Josephine Alexander (see Ezekiel, Jr.'s line) Texas and lives in
Dallas, Texas at the present time. They were married at Cedar
Creek, Texas June 6, 1876.

1878 at Cedar Creek, Texas. Died Sept. 16, 1923 in Dallas, Texas.
2. Emmet McCoy Alexander born June 28, 1880 at
Cedar Creek, Texas Died September 16, 1923 in Dallas, Texas.
3. Bessie Alexander born Bastrop County, Texas
Jan. 26, 1885 married Hans William Rasmussen on Dec. 9, 1922 at Dallas,
Texas. Now living at Houston, Texas.
4. Drucilla Alexander born August 23, 1889 at
Cedar Creek, Texas Married May 1912 to Yancey Harrell Bivings, and
lives in Dallas, Texas.
5. John Riley Alexander bor{n} Sept. 29, 1893
at Cedar Creek, Texas Married May Joe Holiday Nov. 1921 and lives at
Cedar Creek, Texas.
Ezekiel Alexander son of Ezekiel Alexander, Sr., born about 1785 in
North Carolina and came to Tennessee with his parents in 1795 (then
North Carolina)

and to Wilson County about 1805-9 with his father, married Mary Cooper in Wislon {sic ? s/b Wilson} County.
Ezekiel Alexander called Ezekiel, Jr., served in the War of 1812 under
Col. Raulston and Capt. Black, in the Infantry, enlisted Nov. 13,
1814. (Tennessee State Library files of War 1812 is reference for
this statement).
Ezekiel Alexander, Jr. and Mary Cooper had issue: --

John McCoy Alexander born Sept 23, 1818 in Wilson County Tennessee,
married Drucilla McGee and moved to Texas there settling. Among
the issue of this union was a daughter Dorcas Josephine Alexander who
married her cousin John McKnitt Alexander son of John McKnitt Alexander
(see Abner Alexander lineage).
