| Directions | From New Pattonsburg, MO, go north on Hwy 69 about 3 miles to route "T" and turn left (west). My guess is that the cemetery lies somewhere on the right (north) side of route "T" between what the 1998 Plat Book calls 145 St and 140 St which lay about a mile and a mile and a half down route "T". I do not know the exact location of the cemetery and you cannot expect to find the cemetery based on these directions alone. |

County Historical Society in a submission by The Tree
Climbers on page 53 makes mention of this cemetery in a
piece on Benton Township Cemeteries: "STAPLETON
CEMETERY is north of Pattonsburg on the Gordon Summers
farm in Section 35. This is a family plot. The Stapleton
family owned the land in 1846." (2) BLM records indicate that both Joseph and Peter STAPLETON acquired land patents in the section 35 from 1848 to 1852. |
