To all to Whom these presents shall come, or may concern -- Greeting:

Know Ye, that whereas Spicer Cochran, late of Perry County deceased, died intestate, and leaving at his death property within the State aforesaid, as it is said, wherefore administration of all the goods, chattels, rights and credits of the said deceased is hereby granted and committed unto George Preston, having given Bond and security, and taken the proper Oath, well and truly to perform his duties as administrator, and to pay the debts of the deceased, as far as the assets will extend and the law direct, and the said George Preston is also hereby required to make a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the monies, goods and chattels, Lands and tenements, rights and Credits of the deceased, and to exhibit the same in the Office of the Clerk of the County Court of Perry County within such times, and such manner, as is or may be prescribed by law, until His duties be fully complete.

In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of the said court, done this twenty-sixth day of July A. D. 1831.

Know all men by these presents, that we George Preston, William Flynn & Alfred H. Pickett are held and firmly bound, to the State of Missouri, in the sum of five hundred dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves jointly and severally, firmly, our heirs Executors and Administrators, firmly by these presents, as witness our hands & seals this twenty-sixth day of July A. D. 1831.

The condition of the above Obligation is such, that if the above bounden George Preston, administrator of all & singular the Goods & Chattels, rights & credits, which were of Spicer Cochran deceased, do make or cause to be made a true & perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels, lands, tenements, rights and credits of the deceased, which have come to the hands, possession or knowledge of him the said George Preston, or into the hands or possession of any person for him and the same so made do return and exhibit in the Office of the Clerk of the County Court, for the County of Perry, within such times, and in such manner, as is or may be prescribed by law; and all and singular the monies, goods and chattels, lands & tenements, rights and credits of the deceased, accruing from or arising out of his Estate which shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of the said George Preston, shall well and truly administer, according to law, and pay the debts of the deceased as far as his assets will extend and the law direct; and further make or cause to be made just and true Accounts of his said administration and make due and proper settlements thereof from time to time according to law, or the Order, sentence or decree of any court, having competend [sic] jurisdiction and shall moreover, well and truly do and perform all other matters and things touching the said administration as are or shall be provided by law, or conjoined on him by the Order, sentence or decree of any Court having competend [sic] jurisdiction; then this Obligation to be void and of no effect, otherwise to remain in full force an effect.
