LOCAL MATTERS
DIVINE SERVICES. -- Rev. R. R. Witten will preach in the Methodist Church in this place next Sunday at 3 oclock in the afternoon.
A Quarterly Meeting of the Methodist Episcopal Church will be held in the Methodist Church of this place, commencing on Friday evening January 22d, and continuing at least until Sabbath evening following. The services will be conducted by Elder W. G. Fowler, assisted by Rev. R. R. Witten.
COME. -- While the West is receiving large accessions of immigrants from the East and foreign countries, Missouri is getting a large proportion of it. The northwest and southwest portions of the State is rapidly filling up with intelligent, industrious, energetic and enterprising men. We do wish that a few thousand such immigrants would come to Perry county and settle. May be they will. We should like to see them come right along - during the next twelve months.
