THE PUBLIC SCHOOL closed on Friday last for a vacation of one week. it will open again on Monday of the coming week for the summer term.
DIVINE SERVICE. -- Rev. R. R. Witten will preach at the Methodist Church in this place next Sunday at half-past ten oclock A. M. and three oclock P. M.
NEW POSTMASTER. -- Mr. L. J. Hutcheson of our town has been appointed Postmaster for Perryville. He will soon take charge of the office.
OH! YES, SPRING TIME has come at last, and we are enjoying wet weather. - Old winter has taken its departure and spring, beautiful spring assumes her rightful sway.
BOARD AND LUNCH. -- Mrs. Lucinda Minor will, during Circuit Court in Perryville accommodate persons with day board at her residence. also lunch from 9 oclock until 3 oclock each day. Terms reasonable.
LAW FIRM. -- By referring to another column of to-days issue, will be found the card of Johnson, Hartzell & Gall, attorneys at law. Business entrusted to them will be promptly attended to.
A CHANGE. -- By the last issue of St. Louis Commercial Bulletin, we learn that Hallock & Brother, formerly publishers of the Ste. Genevieve Representative, have became its proprietors, G. W. Smith having sold out to them.
LECTURE. -- On the tenth of April Wm. P. Faherty, Vice President of St. Joseph Literary Association, will deliver a lecture before the public. Subject: History, its necessity and utility. Admission free. -- Doors open at half-past one oclock P. M.
PERRYVILLE THESPIANS. -- We are informed by some of the members of this association, that there will be another exhibition given at Burgees Hall, on Monday and Tuesday the 12th and 13th instant. -- The success of the Thespians on former occasions is sufficient guarantee to warrant us in predicting a full house, as an entirely new and carefully selected programme will be presented. Admission 25 cents.
