Anton Klumpp - Declaration of Intent
Anthony Klumpp a native of the Archdutchy of Baden in Germany, and now a resident of Perry County and Stte of Missouri this day came into open Court, and being first sworn on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, declared that it is bona fide his intention to become a Citizen of the United States and to renounce [* forever all Allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, State or Soveignty, and particularly all Allegiance and fidelity to the Grand Duke of Baden in Germany].

Be it remembered that on sufficient proof made to the Court that Joseph Dole, John Wilhelm, Moritz Behlert, Edward Harter(?), Anthony Klumpp and Jacob Muller having resided in the limits of the United States for five years, and within the State of Missouri for one year, immediately preceeding this application and that during the term of their residence they have behaved as good moral citizens attached to the principals of the Constitution of the United States and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same, and that they have complied with the requisition of the law and said Joseph Dole, John Wilhelm, Moritz Behlert, Edward Harter(?), Anthony Klumpp and Jacob Muller declaring on oath that they will support the Constitution of the United States, and that they do absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegience and fidelity to every foreign prince, Potentate, State or sovereignty whatsoever, and particularly to the Archduke of Nassau in Germany of whom the said Jacob Muller was before a subject -
Whereupon the said Joseph Dole, John Wilhelm, Moritz Behlert, Edward Harter(?), Anthony Klumpp and Jacob Muller are admitted citizens of the United States of America.
