Generation 3. John Lysander Aitkin (abt 1848-?).

John was the older of the two sons of Lydia Jane Totten and William Aitkin.

In 1880, he was a farmer in Williamsburgh, Franklin Co., Kansas. His wife's name was Mary and at the time he had two children, William and Mary.

This undated photo is marked "J.H. Steffey, Photographer, Mount Union, Ohio." It may have been taken between 1866 and 1870, the years that John's father William Aitkin and his stepmother Rebecca Carruthers lived in Mount Union.
