Husband of Rozetta (Totten) Vail. Their children were Leander Albert, George Cornelius, John William, Rosetta Ann and Emma Dorinda Vail. Cornelius was a son-in-law of Julia Knapp and John Harvey Totten, and a nephew-in-law of Hamlet Totten.
