Front hall.
The steps lead up to the bathroom, which was installed circa 1910-1915. The stairs and bathroom were installed by great-uncle Jim Ambrose, a carpenter and builder. Note that the door and transom aren't centered - Uncle Jim had to move a wall to make the hallway wide enough for the stairs. Even so, the stairs are narrow.
The woodwork is grained. The bright spot in the center of the front door is the ringer for the doorbell.
