Our grandmother Isabella Cassidy at about age 70.

Isabella, born in Lancaster County, PA, was the daughter of Samuel and Martha Jane (Chambers) Cassidy. The Cassidy family moved to Washington County, PA, where Isabella married George Stewart (1804-1850).

Isabella was the mother of Martha Jane, Ann Elizabeth, John, Mary, Samuel, Elmira, Matilda, Martha and George Anderson Stewart. An unnamed baby, twin of Elmira, died at birth.
