Generation 2. Catherine (Stein) Freyermuth (1847-1892).

Catherine was a daughter of Frederick and Eve (Rosche) Stein. She had four brothers - Henry, Daniel, George and Jacob - and five sisters - Elizabeth, Margaret, Eve, Sarah and Mary.

Catherine married Jacob Freyermuth on April 26, 1876. They had eight children: Frederick, Elizabeth, George A., Henry M., Daniel, Lucy, Gertrude, and an unnamed baby who died. Frederick, the oldest, died when he was one or two years old.

Jerrine (Freyermuth) Weatherby, the oldest of our Freyermuth family as of September 2007, thinks the older, and possibly all, the children were born in the log cabin where Catherine and Jacob lived before the farm house was built. The log cabin was still on the property when Jerrine was a child.

Catherine is buried in Cochranton Cemetery with Jacob and Jacob's second wife, Anna Reitze.
