Generations 2 and 3. Family of Jacob Freyermuth, in the 1890's.

Taken at the family farm between Meadville and Cochranton, Crawford Co., PA. From left: Daniel (1884-1963); Henry (1882-1959); Elizabeth (abt 1878-?); Gertrude (1888-?); George (1879-1942); Lucy (1886-1968); and their father, Jacob (1845-1927). The mother of this family, Catherine Stein, died in 1892. Jacob did not remarry until the children were grown, and oldest daughter Elizabeth (Lizzie) raised the younger ones. The horse was a particular favorite of Jacob's, and George used it in later years to pull the buggy when he courted his future wife Netta Custead. This photo hung in my grandparents' bedroom for many years.
