Generation 2 - Minerva Mary Hamilton (1854-1913) in later life.
According to family legend, Minerva served as the local midwife. She was also quite interested in politics and current events. Unfortunately, she died before women could vote in Pennsylvania. But her daughter Netta moved to Colorado, where women had the franchise, and made her mother proud by casting her vote for Teddy Roosevelt in the election of 1912.
