Generation 1. Rev. John Thomas Cooper (1834-1888), son of Samuel Cooper and Mary Walton.

Samuel was a brother of Mary Deborah Cooper. He was a Methodist minister; most of his charges were in Illinois. He and his wife Barbara Moyer had nine children - Albert Levi (1855-1859), Samuel Newton (?-1881), Mary Letitia (1859-1860), Lydia Ann (1861-?), Florence Addie (1864-?), Deborah Jane (1866-?), Nettie Elizabeth (1869-?), John Walton (1872-1874) and Laura Bell (1877-?).
