Husband of Mabel Craig Stewart, who was the daughter of George Leon and Laura Kerr (Ambrose) Stewart and the granddaughter of Joseph Ritner and Margaret (Dougherty) Ambrose. There is no photographer's mark; "1937" is hand written on the picture.

Sam was the son of Edward (or Edwin?) and June Snyder. His father had managed the company store in Yatesboro.

Sam became school teacher, then principal of the school in NuMine. Later, he worked as a salesman for a textbook company.
