Generation 3. Sidney Ward Ambrose (1895-1980).

Son of Grant W. and Lena (Gourley) Ambrose; grandson of Joseph Ritner and Margaret (Dougherty) Ambrose. This postcard has a note reading "World War I (1918)" on the back. The photographer's mark is Leister's Studio, Kittanning, PA.

Sidney Ward went by his middle name so he will be referred to as Ward in this narrative. He served in the medical corps in World War I. Later, he worked for People's Gas Company.

Ward and his wife Virginia Calhoun (1898-1976) lived in Rural Valley with their daughter, Elaine (1928-1997). Ward and Virginia are buried in the Rural Valley Cemetery.
