I think this is most likely to be the James Thomas who married Sarah Cadle  in 1824.

He was in the Morgan Party on the ‘Ocean’ , the same ship as John and Sarah so they may have struck up a friendship on board and the Howard-Morgan  land plots were contiguous on the map.

James Thomas  married Sarah Cadle, widow, in 1824. They had 2 children
(ingreasing Sarah's  a total number of 13 children in 1824. She had 8 living children to care for, Mary Moore having died 1823, William, John, Elizabeth, Henry, Henrietta and George Cadle; John and Ann Thomas) (plus Harriet Thomas her step daughter ) and not including Sarah Georgiana and John Collin Moore in England.
