The Sesquicentennial Parade was held on Saturday, May 6, 2000 with a temperature reading on the bank of 90 degrees. It began shortly after 1:00 p.m. and lasted until 2:30 p.m. at the site were we (myself, husband Don, sister Betty, cousin Karen Kull Panchari, Mr & Mrs. Harry Geiger [from Boston] and Harry's sister Stasia Sauter & her husband Herb [from NJ]) stood at 1 South 2nd Street. It ended at 3:00 p.m. at it's final street. It consisted of 5 divisions. The parade route headed North on 2nd Street starting at the Industrial Park and turning right onto Franklin Street. It traveled 2 blocks on Franklin to Mill Street and headed South again for 1 block, turning left on Hancock Street (at St. Mary's RC Church) to another right on Nichlols Street. It proceeded down Nichols Street for 3 blocks then turned right on Railroad Street over to South again on Mill Street. It continued on Mill Street until the parade ended where it started at the Industrial Park.

Carbon. Search and rescue equipment and dogs from Ryan Township (Barnesville). Medical Emergency Services from St. Clair, Minersville, Pottsville, and New Philadelphia. Special entry of the Wilkes-Barre Fire Department (Lt. Chris Buchanan, former St Clair resident is with the Wilkes-Barre Fire Dept.). Many antique fire engines from private collections and Historical Society Collections. Schuylkill County Child Development presented a birthday cake float. Viet Nam Veteran's Posts #29, Troop 690, St Clair Boy Scouts, St. Clair in-line skaters club, Greater Pottsville Area Winter Carnival Queen - Miss Tammy Fitzpatrick and many clowns.
