| William was the third child of Andrew Moore and Amanda Benham. "Dad's heros were: Jack Dempsey, The heavyweight champion fighter, Charles Lindberg, the first Pilot to solo the Atlantic to Paris, comedian Jimmie Durante, Henry Ford and the Model T and his favourite radio program, Amos and Andy. His Gold teeth were his trademark. While Harnessing a four-horse hitch, his driving horse (a tempermental Mare) kicked dad in the mouth! It was the highlight of Douglas and Jack Mutton's childhood. Douglas and I have heard it so often we think we were there too. Dad loved to square dance. He knew all the old fiddle tunes: The Devil's Dream, Crooked Stovepipe and Wind that Shakes the Barley. He ued to come to Toronto for St Patrick's Day to attend the Irish concert at the Civic Centre. His comment was, 'I like the Irish music, It has pep to it!' " - Lucille Moore Ferguson495 |
