left home for Califiornia to find work. The family thought he had abandoned them, but that was when he had his stroke at 32. A friend of his kept showing him a photo of the family but for a long time he did not recognize them. Somehow he worked his way back home. He made it to Hopelawn and when my grandmother saw him she screamed (to her grandmother, I think) to go inside because a beggar was
