The Family Rice

My parents, Julian Rice and Lorraine Jankowski on their wedding day August 20, 1949 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

This is the only home we ever knew.  This photo was taken in January 1960.  The old Rice house was located in Lansing, Illinois, a Chicago south suburban town.  Julian and Lorraine Rice lived here until their passing in October 1982, just three weeks apart from each other.  The homestead changed colors over the years, a garage added, and trees and bushes grew, but it remained the same to us.

This Rice family photo was taken at the Jankowski house in Kenosha, Wisconsin for Easter 1960.  In the back are Lorraine and Julian Rice.  In the front are us three kids.

All grown up with families of our own, it's hard for all of us to get together.  This photo was the last time that we were able to take a sibling photo in July of 1999.
