Cekcyn, Byslaw, and Schwetz Parishes
Located north of present day Bydgoszcz are the towns and parishes of Cekcyn and Byslaw. Located only 10 miles apart, two of my family lineages would only come together after immigration to Chicago. In Chicago's over-crowded Polish neighborhoods, these families would finally share the common Polish parish of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. This part of Poland is mostly rural. Back in the 1800's, it was within the boundaries of what was considered West Prussia. Kozlowo, also shown on the map below, is where the Andrykowski family moved to sometime just after 1860. Kozlowo is within the church parish of Swiecie, which was known as Schwetz under Prussian rule.
