I live in Canberra, Australia's National Capital. (Refer to "links" for a
Internet site on Canberra). It is a beautiful City situated in the highlands
with a climatic diversification of very hot dry summers and cold winters.
It takes a long time to research a family. The problems you encounter with various interpretations or hear say can be a major stumpling block when trying to get exact information. I have run into some of these problems. However, the will is there to proceed as far as possible with the traces of information. This project has been in process for a number of years now. You tend to have spurts when new information is forthcoming. Other times it is just a matter of starting up the computer and logging into it and for some reason you are off again. Probably a structured research would be an answer. |
My beginnings with the family tree started back in 1960 when I left the Clarence River (Tyndale), NSW to live with my Uncle in Canberra. I began an Apprenticeship at the Government Printing Office. My Uncle Ron was helpful in getting me that apprenticeship and he was also the one who first gave me some information on the Johnson line. It was basic in that it was a great grandfather, great grandfather downwards with no other names. That was the start. That little piece of information I held onto for a long time. I don't know when I really got into a more vigorous reseacrh. It seems a long time ago. I have now been researching in different areas.
