Earliest Known Ancestor - Isaac Rutledge

Isaac Rutledge , died 1770 in Pennsylvania. He first married Cathrine. Second marriage to Elizabeth.

Isaac Rutledge lived in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Married first, Cathrine. Issue:John, Mathew, Mary, Ann, Eleanor, Elizabeth and William. Proven by the will of Mathew, son of Isaac. Married second, Elizabeth. No known issue. Proven by the will and property settlement for Isaac in Cumberland County Court records. Add'l proof from land records, tax lists, etc.

I believe, but have yet to prove, that Isaac migrated to Cumberland County, Pennsylvania from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Land deed records show an Isaac Rutledge in Bucks Co in appropriate years. Later, his son John, administrator of Isaac's estate, made debt payments and business transactions with persons from Bucks County.

Isaac's son, John, migrated to Rowan County N.C. In about 1798/99, his son Joseph Rutledge Sr migrated to Clark Co KY. He later migrated to Cumberland Co KY. In 1848, John Jefferson Rutledge migrated to Boone Co AR. From there, James Bell Rutledge migrated to King County WA. After WWll, my immediate family migrated from WA to OR.
