General Notes: Husband - William Parker

Henrico Co., Va., Deeds & Wills 1725-1737, No. 1, Part 1, p. 46. Sept. 2, 1726. Deed from William Parker to Edward Stratton. 100 acres purchased from Robert Bullington & Jane his wife in 1664. A memorandum excepts "twenty foot square where William Parker his father and Katherine his Mother & the said Parkers children are Buried."

William Parker, father of Ann Parker, was apparently in Henrico Co., Va. by 1664, in order to make the purchase of land from Robert Bullington (land that his son sold in the above 1726 deed). He was dead by 1677, leaving three orphans, Ann, William, and Mary Parker, all of whom were born after 1656.

Warner, Pauline Pearce. Henrico County Virginia Orphans' Court Book 1677-1739. Tappahannock, Va., Privately printed, 1963.
p. 6. Oct. 1, 1677. . . . ker one Mare and one philly in all 2. William Parker . . . in all 2. The whole stock between Parkers orphs. is 4. . . . ing that there is a mare given by her to her children the sd. orphs. . . . Parker decd. and thereupon desiring liberty to dispose of the same, it is ordered . . . for the use of the sd. orphs. dispose of the same for cattle to the value of the mare.
p. 14. Oct. 11, 1678. An accott: of the Stock belonging to the orphts: of Morgan Peirce (decd) & Wm: Parker (decd) presented by John Millner (vizt) Wm: Peirce . . . .
p. 15. Anne Parker & Mary Parker have 1 mare, Wm. Parker hath 1 mare, the whole stocke between the Parkers orphs. is 2 mares.

Ann Parker was married by 1684; Mary Parker was married by 1689; and William Parker was over 21 by January 1692. This would give approximate birth dates of Ann Parker between 1658 and 1668; Mary Parker between 1664 and 1674; and William Parker by 1671.

William Parker's widow, and the mother of his children Mary and William, was Katherine, who married secondly John Milner (who was born about 1640 and died in 1684). Probably Katherine would not have been significantly older than her husband, so one can approximate her birth date to 1640 as well, which is compatible with the probable ages of her Parker and Milner children (Elizabeth, Mary, and Martha Milner, born between c. 1677?--possibly a few years earlier, depending on how long William Parker had been dead by 1677--and 1684).
