Born 27 Aug 1926 at Birch Run, Saginaw Co. Michigan, passed away January 25, 2004 after a lengthy illness at the Covenant Medical Center Harrison, Saginaw, Michigan.

Glenn was the son of Glenn Rudd and Grace Gray Tanner, stepson of Cecil A. McKinney (second husband of Grace Gray Tanner). Brother of Charles Edward Tanner, also of Birch Run and stepbrother to Nellie Lou (Claude Tanner) and Alberta McKinney (Norm Colbry)

Glenn graduated from Birch Run High School in 1944.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran (1945)sailing on the DD577 Sproston. Further info. on the ship can be found at the following web sites:

He attended Gmi Engineering And Management Institute (GMI), Flint, Michigan.

June 28,1947 he married, Ilene Mae Bruisse Bader, born 13 December 1927. at Birch Run Methodist Church.

He was employed with Buick Motor Divison as a Milliwight for 37 years, retiring in 1986. Glenn enjoyed farming, bowling and tinkering, always with a project on the go.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Rev. Sang 'Abraham' Chun officiating. Burial in Birch Run Cemetery with graveside military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Birch Run United Methodist Church or the American Lung Association.
Glenn was born August 27, 1926 in Birch Run, Michigan to the late Glenn and Grace (Gray) Tanner. He had resided in Birch Run his entire life. He graduated from Birch Run High School in 1944. He also attended GMI. Glenn married Ilene Bader June 28, 1947 in Birch Run. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed with Buick Motor Division as a Millwright for 37 years, retiring in 1986. He attended Birch Run United Methodist Church. Glenn loved farming and also enjoyed bowling and tinkering. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by wife, Ilene; six children, Thomas and wife Cheryl Tanner of St. Charles; Gregory Tanner of Howell; Randall and wife Brenda L. Tanner of Birch Run; Glennda and husband James Dalman of Grand Ledge; Brian 'Todd' and wife Brenda K. Tanner of Millington; and Melissa and husband Dennis Fent of Burt; 11 grandchildren, Tracy Craig, Christy Hebner, Lori Tanner, Kerri-Lynn Tanner, Stephanie, Matthew and Nathan Tanner, Jessica and Samantha Dalman and Megan and Lindsay Fent; brother, Charles Edward and wife Ruth Tanner; two sisters, Nellie Lou and husband Claude Tanner, Alberta and husband Norm Colbry. Glenn was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Cecil A. McKinney and grandson, Michael Fent
Funeral services January 28m2004 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home, Birch Run Rev, Sang 'Abraham' Chun Burial in Birch Run Cemetery with graveside military honors.
Grandson, Nathan played taps and granddaughter, Samantha sang "Amazing Grace".
