She was the widow of Melford T. Stewart and Jacob R. Becker. Born in Bath, she was a daughter of the late Herbert T. and Flora (Unangst) Lilly. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bath. Surviving are a daughter Bernadine, wife of Lewis Tyler of Bethlehem; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Wieder of Allentown; a brother, Herbert O. of Pen Argyl; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Irene Brobst of Allentown R.2 and Hilda, wife of Willard Hess of Kutztown; a stepson Mahlon of Gilbert; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton. A calling hour will precede the services.".


Herbert O LILLY

1The Morning Call Newspaper, obit for Herbert O Lilly, Jan 10 1988. "Herbert O. Lilly, 67, of 105 A St., Pen Argyl, died Saturday in Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Helen L. (Keller) Lilly. He was a crane operator at Dally's Slate Co., Pen Argyl, before retiring in 1986. Before that, he was employed by the former CNA Textile Co., Pen Argyl, for 22 years. Born in Bath, he was a son of the late Herbert T. and Flora (Unangst) Lilly. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Pacific theater during World War II. Surviving with his widow are two sons, Robert of Saylorsburg and David of Pen Argyl; a daughter Gertrude, wife of Daniel Storm of Neola, Monroe County, a sister, Mrs. Virginia Weider of Allentown and five grandchildren. Military services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Schmidt Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap. Calling hours will be 7-8 p.m. Monday.".

Lilly, 62, formerly of 104 A St., Pen Argyl, died Thursday in the home of her son, Robert of Saylorsburg, with whom she resided. She was the wife of Herbert O. Lilly, who died last year. She was a sewing machine operator for various blouse mills in the Wind Gap area before retiring in 1969. Born in Saylorsburg, she was a daughter of the late Arlington and Lulu (Miller) Keller. Survivors: Son; another son, David of Pen Argyl; daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Storm of Neola, Monroe County; brothers, Willard of Wind Gap, Thomas of Allentown and Franklin of Bangor; sisters, Mrs. Pauline Grube of Easton and Mrs. Mamie Kocher of Nazareth, and five grandchildren. Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Schmidt Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap. Call 7-8 p.m. Sunday.".

He was the husband of Eleanor (Schaffer) Klotz. They were married 53 years in August. He was a lorry car operator at the Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 29 years, retiring in 1978. Born in Hellertown, he was a son of the late Mahlon and Annie (Leith) Klotz. Survivors: Wife, and sisters, Mary, wife of Norman Kramer of Coopersburg and Evelyn, wife of Charles Kreitz of Reading. Services: Will be announced by the Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.".
