Abbreviations
I have used as few abbreviations as possible on this site so that it is easy to understand. I hope these ones below are the only ones you will come across and that they are reasonably self-explanatory. If you do want any clarification - then please email me.

| x | added at the end of a name indicates that the individual signed by making his or her mark |

| [ ] | square brackets - my comments, explanation or interpretation |
| + | usually added after a date indicating that a person was known to be alive in that year |
| [--?--] | name unknown |
