Hello from Northumberland!

Welcome to my Family History Scrapbook

My aim is simply to share the information I have gathered on our ancestors and make contact with others who are on the same quest.

November 2016

Please note that I am in the process of a major update of this site including adding a search function.
Problems will get sorted.

First: Nearly all of the information on this website has been researched by me. Where other researchers have given me information or helped me I have tried to verify this myself. It is (as any seasoned family historian will tell you) not always practical or possible to do this, and the sources where the information lie can be in error themselves (or sometimes I just make silly mistakes!)

Second: Where do you start?

My site map is here with links to all the main families I have on this website, where you can browse to see if there are any surnames you recognise. These links do not contain a list of every individual in our family tree. It is a list of the parents of each family group connected in some way to us. If you do recognise any of the family names then just click on that name to take you to the page for that family. (If there isn't a link - I haven't written the page yet!)

All of our direct ancestors are marked with a *

Third: No individual is named more recently than our grandparents.

Fourth: Thank you to other researchers and distant "cousins" who have been so generous with their time and knowledge. Thank you all.

Fifth: If you find a link with your family on these pages or you have information that relates my family and yours, I'd be very pleased to hear from you. If you spot any errors or inconsistencies please let me know. Also I would be delighted to hear from you with any comments, further information, photographs, family trees, queries, background details, or simply just because we have a common interest in family history.

And Lastly: I am happy to provide any details of dates, places and sources that I have on request. But please try and be reasonably specific.

Good luck and happy hunting!
