She was educated at the Seri Menanti Malay School, as well as privately in English classes. She was was appointed as the President of the Negeri Sembilan Girl Guides in 1954; she was also the patron of the Women's Institute of Negeri Sembilan; sh e was proclaimed the Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan on 25th April 25 1957; she established the Muslim Women Welfare Council in May 1961, and was the Founder President; she was awarded the Tun Fatimah Gold Medal om 27th October 1974, by th e National Council of Women's Organisations for her contribution in elevating the standard of women and children through welfare and education.
