h at the Basutoland National Council; when the African Pioneer Corps was formed he joined and rose to the rank of Sergeant-Major, he supervised Basotho troops in the Middle East and the Mediterranean, and was awarded the M.B.E. for his wartime ser
vice, he was an eloquent speaker and often spoke in favour of reform.
