Theuderic's grandmother Brunhilda dominated the kingdom after she was driven from Austrasia by his brother Theudebert.
With his brother, he defeated King Clotaire II in Neustria. Brunhilda then turned him agains his brother and he defeated Theudebert at Toul and Tolbiac in 612. Theudebert was locked up in a monastery and assasinated with his son. Austrasia was then left to Theuderic.
