CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE

Cambridgeshire, England

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is round. This one is in Cambridge and was built around 1130. It is one of only four circular Norman churches in England built by the Knights Templar. The round arches are typical of Norman architecture. These circular buildings were inspired from the earlier crusades to the Holy Land.

There were some additions in the 14th century including a chancel and north aisle. Then in the 19th century the whole building went through a restoration period.
