Powis Castle was a fortress built about 1200 in
Powys, Wales for the Welsh Prince of Powys. The castle
sits on a rock overlooking extensive terraces of beautiful
flowers gardens and plants. The grounds also include a lake.

Edward & Eleanor (Hughes) Foulke along with their
nine children left Wales on 2 February 1698 sailing on
the ship "Robert and Elizabeth"
to the province of Pennsylvania
and arrived at Philadelphia about May 17, 1698.
