FOULKE & OTHER COUSINS FROM WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR

Duke Guillaume Peuerel of Normandy took 7 months to prepare his ships,
army and calvary of 7,000 strong to sail to Pevensey, England.
As they came within sight of the shore:
"PEVENSEY" they shouted from a thousand ships.

THE SONG OF ROLAND

ROLLANS AD MIS L'OLIFAN A SA BUCHE,
EMPEINT-LE BEN, PAR GRANT VERTUT LE SUNE

- Old French -

ROLAND HAS SET THE HORN TO HIS MOUTH,
HE GRASPS IT WELL
AND WITH GREAT VIRTUE SOUNDS.

- English Translation -

Roland's rear division was ambushed by a treasonous act. He blew the heirloom rams horn alerting the main body of the French army. King Charlemagne prayed for the sunlight to stay so he could prevail, and it was granted him, therefore the entire pagan Spaniards were defeated there in the Pyrenees Mt. five miles from the French border year of 778. Charlemagne held the body of his favorite nephew Roland and wept. He then made it tradition to start French battles with mention of Roland followed by the Battle cry screamed by the entire army, then the trumpets heralded the charge. Use of trumpets is from Holy Land Jerusalem Temple in Jesus' time. Multiple trumpeters sounding periodically from the top of the temple roof. At Hastings the Battle Cry was VIVE LES PEUERELS meaning long live the Fearless which was the Conquerors surname from his Fearless ancestor Kings.

Guillaume Peuerel - Duke of Normandy - aka William the Conqueror --- "My ships were loaded ready to cross the channel.
We all prayed for favorable winds. We encountered unfavorable winds until throne usurper Harold Godwinson's troops were exhausted putting down a Viking attack. Then God let us sail, and we were victorious at the BATTLE OF HASTINGS 1066."
