bullet Alexander Gilmore Ouerbacker was born on 22 Jan 1894 in Louisville, KY. He died on 15 Mar 1966 in Louisville, KY. He was buried in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, KY. The following death notice appeared in the Louisville Courier-Journal, Thursday morning, 3/17/1966:

"Ihe funeral of A. Gilmore Ouerbacker, 72, a retired real estate dealer, will he held at 11 a.m. Friday at Parson's, 1310 S. Third. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery. He lived in The 800 Apartments at Fourth and York.

"Ouerbacker, widely known in horse-show circles, was one of the founders and part owner of Daneshall Stables which produced two grand champion five-gaited stake winners in Easter Parade (1947) and My My (1963).

"He was a veteran of WW I and a member of the Louisvtlle Country Club, the Pendennis Club, and the Louisville Real Estate Board.

"He was associated with the Ouerbacker Coffee Co., founded by his father, until the company went out of business during WW II.

"Survivors include two daughters, Miss Helen Ouerbacker, New York City; Mrs. Wm. C. Perry, San Marino, Calif.; two stepsons, Robert Gardner Rye, N. Y. and Wm. A. Gardner; a step-daughter, Mrs. Murdock Head, Warrenton, Va., and two grandchildren.''

On 3/23/1966, his will was probated in Jefferson Co. Court covering an estate of $3 million. He made several direct bequests including one of $5,000 to the Louisville Children's Hospital. Most of his estate was left to his two daughters.

It is believed that Gilmore was married twice but the names of his wives or any other information is unknown.

The Beanblossoms note in their book that Florence had talked to Gilmore on the phone from Niagara Falls, NY, in February of 1966 and had made a date to see him when he came to Indiana in March. He died just a week before they arrived.
