Regarding the sled, Cliff, Mary and Cap's son, says that

You can see one runner at the bottom of the picture
and the other is under Dad's leg and Foot.
Uncle Huelett had a small "coal bank" up that "holler" in the background
and probably used the sled to haul coal in Winter.
He was very handy with tools,
and I wouldn't be surprised if he made the sled.

Uncle Huelett is Birch Hewlett Brown, an older brother of Mary Brown.
He was b. July 14, 1889 d. May 24, 1961

Louvada West was married to Samuel "Cap" Warren
Pritchard Caplinger prior to his marriage to Mary Brown.

Leroy, Kenneth & Omer.

Cliff, Mary and Cap's son, says that

Sometime in the mid 30's Louvada came down with TB and spent some time in a sanatorium. After being released, she came to the farm in Emlenton, Pennsylvania for a while. During that time at the farm, Louvada's sister and a couple of brothers came up from Tennessee to visit. Later Louvada moved back to Akron. In 194--, when we moved off the farm to Akron, we stayed a while with Louvada on Duane Street.

Cliff said that his mother, Mary Brown Caplinger called to say that Granpa Jones was appearing at a rodeo. So Cliff took his mother to meet him. Mary and Grandpa hadn't seen each other for a long while.

When Grandpa Jones saw Mary,
he exclaimed,
"Mary Brown, I can still taste your biscuits!"
