HACKER'S CREEK AREA
NEAR JANE LEW
LEWIS COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA
September 3, 2001

Hacker's Creek, Jane Lew, Lewis County
My direct ancestor Rev. John William Mitchell settled in this area
establishing the first Methodist Protestant Church in 1819 on this road
Old Harmony Church.

Taken on the road from the sign above,
you can make out in the background the
Morrison Cemetery
where many of the original pioneers are buried.

Fairview Church is on the same road.
There are four United Methodist Churches in the Lewis Charge
on this road and closeby.
Berlin, Fairview, Union Chapel (Buckhannon Run) and
Harmony United Methodist Church.

I took this view of the Harmony United Methodist Church here
for identification/location purposes.
This view is directly across from the Wilderness Plantation Motel Office.
It is on Hacker's Creek Road, or some call it the Berlin-Hacker's Creek Road.
