Home of
Mary Alice Cade Pritchard and John Andrew Pritchard

From A Brief History of the Radio Team, Cap, Andy and Flip, Cap in one of the Fireside Melodies books says
"I was born in Wood County, W.Va. in a log house ten miles east of Parkersburg, near Kanawha Station.
I lived on a farm with my father, mother, four sisters and four brothers until I was sixteen years of age."

My grandmother, the third child,
"Vene" Pritchard Emrick
was probably born here, too.

Mary Alice Cade Pritchard Caplinger

"Flo" and "Ma" Caplinger
(Mary Brown, Ma's daughter-in-law, raised Flo)

Pauline "Flo" b. Inez, KY 1921
d. 12-20-2000, 2000

buried in Perryville Cemetery, Perryville, Pennsylvania
Flo is on Cap's page in the
band picture
and
with Everett Pritchard.

Ma Caplinger on the right.
Everett Pritchard, her son, is immediately next to her.

Ma Caplinger & Beechie,
(Cap & Mary Brown's baby girl)
Beechie b. 1939

Cap on left next to his mother, Ma Caplinger
The others haven't been identified.
Please let me know if you know them.

Musing:
Harry d. 1947 (abt. 56 years)
Ma d. 1949 (abt. 80 years)
Cap d. 1957 (abt. 68 year)
Norma b. 1939
---so---
If I might take a guess, I would venture that the man on the back right is Cap's brother, Harry. The woman in front and the woman on the left in back have faces and noses similar to Harry.
The young woman in front wouldn't be Harry's daughter, Norma because Norma was born in 1939 and would be too young here for this young woman. . The woman beside him, back middle, could be Harry's wife, Violet. The woman in the back left would be too young to be a sister of Cap and Harry and too old to be a daughter of Harry.
The young woman in front looks like she could be the d/o Cap's sister, Vene: Lucille Emrick b. 1914.

Ma Caplinger.
Two eldest children are children of Ma's daughter, Rose Pritchard.
[Rose Pritchard m. Philmore Nichols]
Rosemary & Philmore (called "Junior").

In front is Ralph Dennis Marlow, grandson of Rose Pritchard.
[Rose Pritchard m. Levi Marlow]
[Rose and Levi's son is Harold Marlow]
[Ralph is Harold and Goldie (McIntire) Marlow's son]

Elk Garden, West Virginia
Home where Mary Alice Cade Pritchard lived with her husband
John Andrew Pritchard at the time of the Coal Mining Explosion
which killed her husband and her son, Arthur.

These two pictures were taken in July of 1963, 52 years later.
Someone told me where the Pritchard house is/was,
but it looked different in 1999 than in 1963,
and I'm not sure that I was given the correct house.
But the next journey I take, I will be able to take these pictures to search it out,
if it is still standing.

This first picture is Elsie Winans Pritchard, wife of Ralph Pritchard on the left.

This second picture, Ralph Pritchard in the middle.
