FOREST HILL ROAD CHURCH
Corner of Forest Hill Road and Hwy. 33,
southeast of Gordonsville, VA
on the road to Trevillians, VA, in Louisa County, VA

My direct ancestor, Gilbert Gibson,
owned property and Gibson's Mill in this
Forest Hill Road area.
His son, George Gibson, also my direct ancester,
is listed in the death records as dying at
Forest Hill, Louisa County, Virginia.

The graveyard area behind this church has many trees although one could not tell from this picture.

I am not sure whether this church is lopsided or my picture taking is so. The tree on the left appears to be straight.

Photos of Gravestones behind the Forest Hill Road Church taken March 2001.

You can see by the leaves around the gravestones that the churchyard appears very unkept. Stubs of moldy, green stones in many stages of decay give evidence to many persons having been buried here. It is a moldy, dank area for a graveyard.

RICHARD Z. SPROUSE

This gravestone is tilted forward and probably will be falling over soon. I had to lay in the leaves to get this picture. You can see that there are many trees in this graveyard. The gravestone looks translucent, however I think it is the rain that caused this look. I was hoping that the photo would be able to bring out the dates below. You may possibly figure them out. It looks like June 20, 1881 and November 15, 1950 to me.
