Unknown Burke, wife of Malachijah, |
| Living next door to Malchijah is William Iser.
It is very common for children "next door" to
marry is the first reason I think that she was married to
an Iser instead of Isner. Also, there are no Isner's in the Hampshire County census' in 1830, but there are William and John ISER in the 1840 census', both male heads of households. In 1860 William Iser had a household family with what looks like two different marriages already, indicated by the 7-8 years between Silas and Robert. Willam Iser and Nancy Burke are both born between 1814-1815, so this is a possible union for them to have Sally Ann Isner. I have no further information on John Isner who is head of the household in 1840. It is possible that he could be the father of Sally Ann; however, I see no further indication of him as having a family or showing up in a more recent census with a family. John could be the father of Wiliam Iser or he could be William's brother. I have not seen the proximity of John Iser's household as taken by the census taker to see if it is as close to the Malachijah Burke household, so I cannot confirm a close location. |

I haven't found either Malchijah Iser, William Iser or John Iser on the 1830 or 1820 Hampshire County Census so far. I have not found a Malchijah Iser (or Isner) on a Maryland 1830 of 1820 census. Could it be that he immigrated into Maryland between 1830-1840? |
