126. In family folklore, Bertha and her Schlueter family ancestry, seems to have a significant contrasting relationship to Herman Dobberstein. One story has it that the Schueters didn't want Bertha, who was from a more wealthy family, marrying poorer Herman Dobberstein. Accordingly, that is why they may have been forced to leave Jefferson County virtually a day after their wedding, and headed up north to Outagamie County to establish their life and their family.
