The fourth child of Ann Sweaney was born 6 Oct 1856 in
Dallas Co., MO. Bud Randleman of Windyville, MO. has a letter in
his possession from Michael Randleman after he had moved to
Oregon wherein he had written to Ann Sweaney inquiring about
Delila as she had quit writing to him.
By 1880 she is living with Jane Periman and her children and
she has Anna, aged two and Everett, 6 mos. On one side of them
was the Abijah and Babe Bennett household and on the other is
Jasper and Irena (Hildebrand) Lemons family and Phillips homes on
both sides of them. It is unknown at this time what relationship
was Jane Periman. She may have been a Sweaney relative because her
children are named William, Levi, Allen and Isaac. She appears to
be the widow, Martha Jane, of James Peryman (see 1860 c).
Delila contracted tuberculosis (usually associated with poor
nutrition) and died in 1891. She is buried at Lone Rock
Cemetery. The Buffalo Reflex records, "Delila Sweaney died July 25
at the home of A. B. Bennett. Was buried at the Lone Rock
graveyard on the 26th. Aged 35 years . . . Tilden." (BR 30
July 1891)
Her sister, Babe, took in her two orphaned children and
reared them as her own.
