p. 268: John A. Hildebrandt, one of the leading residents of Carlisle, Cumberland Co., PA was born in that city 24 July 18__(too dim), a son of Henry and Elmira (Adams) Hildebrandt.
The father was born in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany 9 Aug 1835 and when a lad of 18 years, came to America and located in N.Y. City. He died 23 Aug 1895. His wife was b. Perry Co., PA 15 Oct 1847 survives him. They had five children: John A.(subject), Mary, unmd; Harry, unmd; and two who died. They were Lutheran.
John A. md Elizabeth Jane McFeaters who was born in Juniata Co., PA 16 May 1869. They have two children: Harry W. and John R. and reside in Carlisle, PA.
