NOTES ON EARLY FOLDENS

This is a query received from the Folden exchange:

I am looking for Information on William Taylor and his wife Mary. They lived on Taylor Mountain in Bedford Co. and owned 94 Acres which were sold and additional acreage purchased. They had three children that I am aware of. Robert Taylor who married Permelia Gibbs and Nancy and Sally. From the info I have Sally married Adam Foulden and Nancy married George Foulden. But I have no further information. I would like to know the parents of Adam and George Folden and the names of their children. Also I believe George had a second marriage and would like to know to whom he was married. If you could help me out I would appreciate it. I am assuming by the many connections I have seen on the Internet, that the Foulden's also lived on Taylor Mountain. Can you confirm? I will share information that I have with you all though I have nothing else on the Foulden family, I do have info on the Taylor descendants and many other families in Bedford Co.

Thanks so much

2 Apr 2002:

It appears that Nathaniel Markham son of Nathaniel E Markham and Agnes Swaine married Sarah Folding. The record indicated her mother was Nancy, and the Surety was George W. Foulden. What I am wondering is, if the parents of Sarah are Nancy Taylor and George Foulden who married in Bedford Co. in 1808. Also wondering if George W is a cousin or brother. William Taylor and Mary were the parents of Nancy Taylor who married George Foulden (1808) and they had another daughter Salley Taylor who married Adam Foulden.(1794) I am assuming that Adam and George were brothers? Although this may be incorrect. Do you have any information that can straighten this group out for me. I understand that Nathaniel Markham and Sarah Folding went to Putnam WVa and died there. If you can shed anymore light on this it would be appreciated.

Thanks
Darcy Markham
