Isaac McClung, possibly a son of John and Elizabeth McClung, was born in 1796. In the 1850 census of Preble County, Ohio, an Isaac McClung states that he was born in North Carolina in 1816. His wife was Mary, born ca 1821 in N.C. They had Emily born 1839 in N.C., John b. 1846 in NC and Eli born ca 1849 in North Carolina.

The 1840 Census of North Carolina needs to be checked for this family.

By 1860, there was no Isaac listed in the census of Ohio nor in Indiana. We do not have the census index for Illinois for 1860.

Perhaps the 1880 National Census Index would reveal where this family moved.
