P. 167: Oliver Caldwell:

Testimony taken. 21 Sep 1810. John Ward, sworn, says a cabin was built on said tract* in 1797 and inhabited about 6 weeks by Oliver Caldwell . . .

*600 arpents situate in creve Coeur settlement, Dist. of St. Louis.

Volume II

P. 3: Benjamin Caldwell:
by his proxy, Robert Reynolds, claiming 400 acres on St. Francois River, Dist. of Cape Girardeau; produces to the Board a notice of said claim to the recorder dated 8 Feb 1808. Testimony 1808 by Daniel Thorn said he witnessed Benj. Caldwell inhabiting and cultivating land 6 years ago, and had a wife and two children.

P. 3: James Caldwell:

by his proxy Robert Reynolds, 400 acres on St. Francois River in Dist. of Cape Girardeau. Testimony taken 24 Oct 1808: Daniel Thorn says he saw claimant inhabiting and cultivating land 1802-4 and had a wife and three children. 1810 claim NOT granted.

P. 32:

Kinkead Caldwell and others testify of early claims 1806 for Wm. Drennon; David Kincaid; 1808 Adam Martin and Louis Martin in St. Charles.

P. 64: John Caldwell:

claimed 460 arpents on the Missouri River, Dist. of St. Louis. 1806 James Stevens testified that in 1803 he cut a few poles and was preparing to build and cultivate but was prevented by the Indians. Claim NOT granted.
